AB  - The article deals with the uniquely preserved Renaissance epitaph of the family of knights from southwestern Moravia. Regarding the style, the epitaph appears to be related to the stucco decoration and furnishings of the All Saints Chapel at Telč Chateau. The epitaph is a combination of stonemasonry, stucco decoration, and polychrome that ought to imitate more expensive materials, e.g. marble. Because the work was coated with monochrome paint in the first half of the 17th century and no restoration was carried out until 2018, its original surface treatment has survived to an exceptional degree.
