The history of the monastery says that the residence was built in 1718 based on the design of Jan Blažej Santini Aichel. It can be neither confirmed nor excluded that J. B. Santini made a design for the residence, yet it is more likely that the master mason František Benedikt Klíčník constructed the building based on his own design during 1723-1725. An earlier building, probably a granary, was included in the structure, forming the transverse eastern wing. In 1765, Provost Otmar Konrad founded a chapel in the residence. This is associated with the design (no date specified) of the parish office and residence of the master mason Matyáš Jednuška of Moravský Krumlov. The eastern wing of the residence disappeared between 1843 and 1849. During the reduction of the ground plan, two new windows emerged above which cornices were built identical with those from the 1723-1725 construction. The builder undoubtedly strived to retain the ancient and representative look of the building. Nevertheless, the residence lost its original function after the mid-19th century.
