The palace disappeared without a trace from the castle topography and various opinions have been expressed on its exact location. The article presents the options that are based on the analysis of sources, especially the description of the 1541 fire by Vaclav Hajek of Libocany, hypothesising that the palace had two parts. The main one was to the north of the White Tower, on the site of today's central wing, while the other one was to the south of the tower, encompassing the compound that was called the Lion's Court at the time of Rudolf II.
