AB The article deals with the specific segment of heraldic representations - where coats of arms/emblems, both real and imaginary, did not have a meaning (a reflection of social or other bond), but rather fulfilled only a decorative function. In this respect, the 'heraldic decor' is on the borderline between the heraldic representations that inspired them and the range of decorative elements (vegetal, geometric, figural, and others - letters or signs resembling letters could also be used for decoration, showing the closest analogies with the heraldic decor).
