Václav Zeman
Průzkumy památek 2021, 28(1):3-20 | DOI: 10.56112/pp.2021.1.02
The builder Petr Versa (c. 1645-1726), descending from Verdabbio in Switzerland and settled in Litoměřice at the end of the 17th century, carried out a rather extensive construction commission for the prominent Baroque nobleman, Count Franz Anton von Sporck, at his Konojedy Domain in northern Bohemia. Between 1698 and 1709, he renovated the former Konojedy Castle to a hospital and office house and built a new hospital church. In Valkeřice, he built a castle and a parish house, and in Merboltice a new church was constructed. Versa's structures were built in the Early Baroque style based on designs of others (Petr Nitola) and perhaps also based on his...
On Manorial Homesteads in South Moravia from the Late 17th to the Late 19th Century
Jan Žižka
Průzkumy památek 2021, 28(1):21-50 | DOI: 10.56112/pp.2021.1.03
The article presents a brief overview of homesteads on former manors in Moravia. It shows the sumptuous Baroque courts designed by remarkable architects and builders as well as the typological variety of 19th century courts and indicates some possible contexts. The monumental Baroque courts at Slavkov, Kunštát, and Žďár nad Sázavou Monastery were the most illustrious nobility homesteads not only in Moravia, but also throughout the territory of today's Czech Republic. Moravian courts show similar typological solutions as the Bohemian ones, but some of them are slightly different too. Moravian courts offer a wide scope for research from the viewpoints...

Průzkumy památek 2021, 28(1):51-70 | DOI: 10.56112/pp.2021.1.04
The article presents the results of building history research of the agricultural court at the compound of the former Canonry of Premonstratensians at Hradisko near Olomouc. The first part deals with the compound's history, the second with its characteristics and changes. The large facility surrounding the square court is situated southeast of the canonry. The wings are single storeyed, covered with a continuous saddle roof. The current court stands on the site of the Baroque court, depicted in the 1692 veduta of the monastery, which was twice damaged by fire. The archival records about the course of the construction have not been found. Indirect data...
Loosdorf with the Castle in Laa an der Thaya in Lower Austria under Johann (I.) Joseph, Prince of Liechtenstein during 1781-1810
Daniel Lyčka
Průzkumy památek 2021, 28(1):71-86 | DOI: 10.56112/pp.2021.1.05
The Loosdorf domain with the Hagendorf farmstead in Lower Austria was the first place where Johann (I.) Joseph, Prince of Liechtenstein, carried out his building, landscaping, and farming activities. The castle was rebuilt, probably based on the design of the architect Benedikt Henrici. An English park was established that was later replaced with a natural landscape park after the design of Bernhard Petri, the director of princely estates. Moreover, voluptuary structures were erected: Hanselburg and presently missing hermitage, a charcoal-burner's hut, and Diana's temple. The medieval castle in the nearby town of Laa an der Thaya) was also renovated.

Notes On Selected Late Gothic Stone Reliefs In South Moravia
Zdeněk Vácha
Průzkumy památek 2021, 28(1):112-123 | DOI: 10.56112/pp.2021.1.08
In South Moravia a number of Late Gothic relief panels is preserved bearing a heraldic decoration with a inscription or date. The five selected examples represent the period between 1461 and 1497, three are directly dated. Relief panels epitomizing a form of aristocratic representation are today without exception in secondary positions, but we must assume their original prominent location on gates or palaces of noble residences. The question of their workshop provenance remains open, but in some cases, due to the type of stone used and ties in style, there is a probable connection to Austria.

Pavel Šopák
Průzkumy památek 2021, 28(1):123-130 | DOI: 10.56112/pp.2021.1.09
The article expands the knowledge about the structures of Franz Kachler (1847-1908) in northern Moravia and Silesia, their numbers and looks at the time of erection, including the presentation of newly discovered plans. Kachler now appears to have designed a wider scope of structures; it is evident that he promptly responded to the investors' needs and could offer a cultivated form of architectural expression. The text points out selected renovations of the monitored buildings.
